Will bill give Obama control of Internet?
Proposed new powers called 'drastic federal intervention'

Sen. John "Jay" Rockefeller, D-W.V.
A pair of bills introduced in the U.S. Senate would grant the White House sweeping new powers to access private online data, regulate the cybersecurity industry and even shut down Internet traffic during a declared "cyber emergency."
Senate bills No. 773 and 778, introduced by Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.V., are both part of what's being called the Cybersecurity Act of 2009, which would create a new Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor, reportable directly to the president and charged with defending the country from cyber attack.
A working draft of the legislation obtained by an Internet privacy group also spells out plans to grant the Secretary of Commerce access to all privately owned information networks deemed to be critical to the nation's infrastructure "without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule or policy restricting such access."
Who might be watching you without you knowing it? Get "Spychips" and see how major corporations and government are planning to track your every move!
Privacy advocates and Internet experts have been quick to sound the alarm over the act's broadly drawn government powers.
"The cybersecurity threat is real," says Leslie Harris, president of the Center for Democracy and Technology, which obtained the draft of S.773, "but such a drastic federal intervention in private communications technology and networks could harm both security and privacy."
"The whole thing smells bad to me," writes Larry Seltzer in eWeek, an Internet and print news source on technology issues. "I don't like the chances of the government improving this situation by taking it over generally, and I definitely don't like the idea of politicizing this authority by putting it in the direct control of the president."
(Story continues below)
According to a Senate document explaining the bill, the legislation "addresses our country's unacceptable vulnerability to massive cyber crime, global cyber espionage and cyber attacks that could cripple our critical infrastructure."
In a statement explaining the bill's introduction, Sen. Rockefeller said, "We must protect our critical infrastructure at all costs – from our water to our electricity, to banking, traffic lights and electronic health records – the list goes on."
Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, who is co-sponsoring the bill, added, "If we fail to take swift action, we, regrettably, risk a cyber-Katrina."
Critics, however, have pointed to three actions Rockefeller and Snowe propose that may violate both privacy concerns and even constitutional bounds:
First, the White House, through the national cybersecurity advisor, shall have the authority to disconnect "critical infrastructure" networks from the Internet – including private citizens' banks and health records, if Rockefeller's examples are accurate – if they are found to be at risk of cyber attack. The working copy of the bill, however, does not define what constitutes a cybersecurity emergency, and apparently leaves the question to the discretion of the president.
Second, the bill establishes the Department of Commerce as "the clearinghouse of cybersecurity threat and vulnerability information," including the monitoring of private information networks deemed a part of the "critical infrastructure."
Third, the legislation proposes implementation of a professional licensing program for certifying who can serve as a cybersecurity professional.
And while the critics concede the need for increased security, they object to what is perceived as a dangerous and intrusive expansion of government power.
"There are some problems that we face which need the weight of government behind them," writes Seltzer in eWeek. "This is not the same as creating a new federal bureaucracy setting rules over what computer security has to be and who can do it."
"It's an incredibly broad authority," CDT senior counsel Greg Nojeim told the Mother Jones news website, troubled that existing privacy laws "could fall to this authority."
Jennifer Granick, civil liberties director at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, told Mother Jones the bill is "contrary to what the Constitution promises us."
According to Granick, granting the Department of Commerce oversight of the "critical" networks, such as banking records, would grant the government access to potentially incriminating information obtained without cause or warrant, a violation of the Constitution's prohibition against unlawful search and seizure.
"What are the critical infrastructure networks? The examples provided are 'banking, utilities, air/rail/auto traffic control, telecommunications.' Let's think about this," writes Seltzer. "I'm especially curious as to how you take the telecommunications networks off of the Internet when they are, in large part, what the Internet is comprised of. And if my bank were taken offline, I would think about going into my branch and asking for all of my deposits in cash."
S. 778, which would establish the Office of the National Security Advisor, and S. 773, which provides for developing a cadre of governmental cybersecurity specialists and procedures, have both been read twice and referred to committee in the Senate.
DAY 7
No need for W.M. I actually like Winn Dixie better anyway.

Day 5 & 6
Day 5-
We had to go to the store but Thankfully we have a Winne Dixie closer to us than W.M.
We purchased one and half dozen of eggs, and Tortillas.
Day 6-
We have to drop off our pet at the vet so we will be pretty close to other stores.
I found this I thought I would post it. http://www.catholic-pages.com/dir/prolife.asp
Click the fifth Commandment, too find more of the below information.
2318 "In [God's] hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind" (Job 12:10).
2319 Every human life, from the moment of conception until death, is sacred because the human person has been willed for its own sake in the image and likeness of the living and holy God.
2320 The murder of a human being is gravely contrary to the dignity of the person and the holiness of the Creator.
2321 The prohibition of murder does not abrogate the right to render an unjust aggressor unable to inflict harm. Legitimate defense is a grave duty for whoever is responsible for the lives of others or the common good.
2322 From its conception, the child has the right to life. Direct abortion, that is, abortion willed as an end or as a means, is a "criminal" practice (GS 27 § 3), gravely contrary to the moral law. The Church imposes the canonical penalty of excommunication for this crime against human life.

Day 3 & 4
Yesterday Day 3
Nothing much to go shopping for, I feed my family with the food in house. Three full meals and snacks included without
stepping foot into W.M.
My feelings on this is I had told some people about our decision to not shop at W.M. no longer.
Their comeback was were are going to shop. I realize that other food stores are becoming more and more
limited. Do You or I really know how W.M. can offer such low prices?
Today is Day 4.
I think most people when they realize what Big Government is trying to do with health care, the many Czars, the many things we as the American people are losing. So If I can stand up to W.M. and teach my children about Morals, Values, Tradition,Faith,Love,Honor.
I WILL!!
Once again no need to go to W.M. today. I am not even missing W.M.
Hope you all find in your heart something that inspires you or your loved ones. We should all be so lucky to find
something to feel our hearts with love for this once great Country we live in.
God has Blessed You and I...

letter from B
After I woke up I go to my trusted coffee pot making sure my preferred
creamer, Dulce De Leche (purchased at W.M) has once again made it's home in my fridge, with
the morning drowsiness of the morning I note how many Wal-mart brand
products harbor there. I shrug it off and take a grateful sip from my cup.( also purchased at W.M.)
The T.V. comes on as I update things on my computer. Somehow Wal-Mart
buts into My quiet time through my favorite News channel. Then that was it!
This is enough Wal- Mart junk! They seem to stand for everything I don't.
So that is it, even though I depend on Wal-mart too much, I'm cutting that
lifeline. But just so we are all clear, 100 days actually equals No more.
Silly Wal-Mart you have just lost a VALUED customer.

The boycott, from our side!
So after much thought on how I could make a difference. At least for my family.
My Guy and I have come up with the idea.
We tried but failed awhile back when Walmart and Acorn became partners.
Now Since the big companies who depend on the consumers( which last time I checked is you and I )
We are making this a firm commitment, Even though times are hard and the economy is shrinking.
No more Walmart.
You see my family spend a bunch of money there buying( food, clothing, house ware, school supplies).
Basically everything you need, you can almost get is at Walmart.
However, I realize that many people in this country may not shop at Walmart.
I DID!! But NO MORE!!
We are going to post a little insert for everyday for 100 days of our life without WALMART.
In the promise to not ever go there again.
The 100 days starts 24 of August until the middle November( But my family and I plan to not ever shop there.)
Day One: Yesterday I stocked up at the Commissary. No need for Walmart.
I also have to get a soccer ball size 5 for my oldest, I will be going to a sports store. My oldest says we will be helping out the smaller businesses by doing this.

Boycott?? What??
So this has been ongoing for Glenn Beck, seems to have offended many. Let me clarify: A man(Obama) attends the church of Rev Jeremiah Wright and listens to his tirade against jews and "whitey". He does this for twenty years. If you hung out with Hitler for twenty years and he was a friend of your family would I not be just calling you a Nazi? So below is the list of companies who have Boycotted Glenn Beck and they pulled their advertisements from his show. Its time for people to wake up, big business does not care who is in the white house, they just support whoever it is, this is how they hedge their bets.

letter to Mr. Obama.
Okay so weeks ago I ask my children to write a letter to Mr. Obama:
Well One of them came through and I am just going to post a few lines from it.
First I have to say I am proud that this is my child, I am blessed that God has touched her.
Whatever you are planning it must be done with equality for all men, liberty, honesty and if
possible virtue. Anything good you will do can only be accomplished with God.
In every action that you do, do you sense God's presence ?YOU should, Cause He's there.
Make sure you are worthy of JESUS Promises.
Besides that remember that you are human.
Do you really Believe you can this without God's help? You can not!
Remember There are always two sides to History.
Don't describe them as Good and Bad, but rather God's and Bad.
No one can succeed without God except in what is wrong.
Don't think about what the future will be like for Your children for they will be
well taken care of.
Think of everyday people, what will they face because of your decisions?
May God Bless You.
Realize this that I did not share the full letter with you.
But when I read it I wished everyone would read it, But as I know people are being
put on spotlight for having their voices heard which do not directly reflect the governments plan .
I am NOT going to send it. But I am sharing it with you all.

If you need a Laugh?
> NINE WORDS WOMEN USE
> (1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are
> right and you need to shut up.
> (2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an
> hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given
> five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
> (3)Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something,
> and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing
> usually end in fine.
> (4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
> (5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement
> often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an
> idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and
> arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of
> nothing.)
> (6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women
> can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard
> before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
> (7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint.
> Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is
> true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is
> not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring
> on a 'whatever').
> (8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying GO TO HELL
> (9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement,
> meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several
> times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man
> asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.
> * Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can

> * Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause

Dr. Alveda King: Health Reform Should Include Unborn and Elderly as Recipients, Not Victims
8/18/2009
Christian Newswire (www.christiannewswire.com)
Now is the time for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents to join together in a 'dream choir' to proclaim that health care reform should also include everyone, young and old, born and unborn.
(Picture:Dr. Alveda King) 'I was deeply moved by the statement of Representative Joseph Cao of Louisiana who said he would rather lose his seat in Congress than vote for a bill that funded abortion. His elevation of others' lives over his own personal interests is not only the mark of a true statesman, but of a humble member of the Beloved Community of which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. often spoke.'
ATLANTA, (Christian Newswire) - Dr. Alveda King, Pastoral Associate of Priests for Life and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., will join fellow civil rights leaders Tuesday for a Capitol Hill press conference on the need to exclude genocide from health care reform.
"The unborn and elderly should be included in health insurance reform as recipients of care, not victims of genocide," said Dr. King. "Abortion, also called a 'woman's reproductive health service' and 'population control,' is genocide; so is euthanasia. We support procreative reproductive health care. Abortion is not health care and should be specifically excluded from any pending reform legislation. And we say yes to facilitating the care, not the demise, of the elderly and infirm."
In addition to the press conference, Dr. King will join Day Gardner of the National Black Pro-Life Union, Kristen Day of Democrats for Life, Donna J. Harrison, M.D., of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Bishop Harry Jackson of the High Impact Leadership Coalition, and Pastor Dean Nelson of the Network of Politically Active Christians to discuss with Congressional staff why abortion must not be increased by including it as a part of health care legislation.
"As a post-abortive mother and victim of the harsh aftereffects of abortion, I know firsthand the pain and grief of this form of genocide. Millions of babies, including my own, are dead from this population control campaign," noted Dr. King. "I was deeply moved by the statement of Representative Joseph Cao of Louisiana who said he would rather lose his seat in Congress than vote for a bill that funded abortion. His elevation of others' lives over his own personal interests is not only the mark of a true statesman, but of a humble member of the Beloved Community of which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. often spoke."
"Uncle Martin's dream includes everyone," added Dr. King. "Now is the time for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents to join together in a 'dream choir' to proclaim that health care reform should also include everyone, young and old, born and unborn."

Info, But you know this?
abor·tion (É™-bôr'shÉ™n) noun
The Termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, or closely followed by the Death of the embryo or fetus; especially: the medical procedure of inducing expulsion of a human fetus to Terminate a pregnancy. (Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary, © 2002 Merriam-Webster, Inc.)
Abortion is one of the most common surgical procedures in the world, but the average person knows almost nothing of its gruesome reality. Year after year, it lurks in the shadows, quietly destroying almost 4,000 innocent human beings a day in the U.S. and 130,000 a day worldwide. In the U.S., this is happening because seven Supreme Court Justices decided that abortion was a constitutionally protected act. Without a vote, without public debate, abortion came in through the back door, never having to bear up under the weight of significant public scrutiny. Today, abortion is a billion-dollar industry which enjoys the support of very influential people in very high places. High schools and universities go to great lengths to graphically expose the dangers of smoking, drunk-driving and STD’s, but take a pass when it comes to abortion. Abort73.com exists to tell you what almost no one else is, so please, don’t make up your mind until you’ve taken the time to examine the facts. You are standing on the threshold, so come a little further. We dare you to know.

School officials face jail time for meal-time prayers
OneNewsNow ^ | Pete Chagnon - OneNewsNow
Posted on August 11, 2009 9:42:52 PM CDT by narses
A principal and an athletic director are facing criminal charges for a lunch-time prayer. Last year, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit against Pace High School in Santa Rosa County, Florida. The ACLU claimed some teachers and administrators were endorsing religion, but the school chose to give in to the ACLU's demands rather than fight them in court. According to the settlement, all school employees are banned from engaging in prayer or religious activities before, during, or after school hours. Now two school officials are facing criminal charges for offering meal-time prayers at an appreciation dinner for adults who had helped with a school field house project. Principal Frank Lay and athletic director Robert Freeman are scheduled to go on trial next month on criminal contempt charges. If convicted, both are subject to fines and imprisonment. Matt Staver is founder of Liberty Counsel, which will argue the court order prohibiting prayer at school-related events violated Lay's and Freeman's constitutional rights. "In this particular case, Principal Frank Lay asked the athletic director to have a prayer for the meal at an honorary luncheon in celebration for some of the athletic achievements. And then in [another] situation, the clerical worker at an event where some employees of the school were present asked her husband, who is not an employee of the school, to have a blessing over a meal," he explains. "Because of those two events, these individuals now face criminal contempt." Staver believes that the accusers in this case are students who recently graduated. If that is the case, he says the case is moot. However, Staver adds it is outrageous to punish a school official with potential jail time for simply praying.
My thoughts:
I believe that we are not too far away from the American citizens becoming angry with all of the liberties that our Government is trying too control. I will always believe in the good of this country, but I am here on this earth because of God. I have the blessings because God blesses me so. This Earth is here because God created it for Us. I will pray for our leaders to make better choices for Us, the people they work for. I will pray for our President to understand his faults and to have the strength to make the right choices. I have said this before I realize he is in this position for a reason, I have yet to see if it is to better this country. So I PRAY Mr. Obama's plan helps as much of the American people as it can, I wish him the best.

Miracle, Even After.
When does the unborn baby's heart begin to beat?
The heartbeat begins on the 21st day after conception.
When does the brain begin to function?
Electrical brain waves have been recorded as early as forty days.
How early can a baby survive outside the mother's womb?
Currently, twenty weeks is considered the accepted minimum. However, this time will be reduced as medical technology continues to improve.
Gianna Jessen
Testimony of abortion survivor Gianna Jessen before the Constitution Subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee on April 22, 1996.
My name is Gianna Jessen. I am 19 years of age. I am originally from California, but now reside in Franklin, Tennessee. I am adopted. I have cerebral palsy. My biological mother was 17 years old and seven and one-half months pregnant when she made the decision to have a saline abortion. I am the person she aborted. I lived instead of died.
Fortunately for me the abortionist was not in the clinic when I arrived alive, instead of dead, at 6:00 a.m. on the morning of April 6, 1977. I was early, my death was not expected to be seen until about 9 a.m., when he would probably be arriving for his office hours. I am sure I would not be here today if the abortionist would have been in the clinic as his job is to take life, not sustain it. Some have said I am a "botched abortion", a result of a job not well done.
There were many witnesses to my entry into this world. My biological mother and other young girls in the clinic, who also awaited the death of their babies, were the first to greet me. I am told this was a hysterical moment. Next was a staff nurse who apparently called emergency medical services and had me transferred to a hospital.
I remained in the hospital for almost three months. There was not much hope for me in the beginning. I weighed only two pounds. Today, babies smaller than I was have survived.
A doctor once said I had a great will to live and that I fought for my life. I eventually was able to leave the hospital and be placed in foster care. I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a result of the abortion.
My foster mother was told that it was doubtful that I would ever crawl or walk. I could not sit up independently. Through the prayers and dedication of my foster mother, and later many other people, I eventually learned to sit up, crawl, then stand. I walked with leg braces and a walker shortly before I turned age four. I was legally adopted by my foster mother's daughter, Diana De Paul, a few months after I began to walk. The Department of Social Services would not release me any earlier for adoption.
I have continued in physical therapy for my disability, and after a total of four surgeries, I can now walk without assistance. It is not always easy. Sometimes I fall, but I have learned how to fall gracefully after falling 19 years.
I am happy to be alive. I almost died. Every day I thank God for life. I do not consider myself a by-product of conception, a clump of tissue, or any other of the titles given to a child in the womb. I do not consider any person conceived to be any of those things.
I have met other survivors of abortion. They are all thankful for life. Only a few months ago I met another saline abortion survivor. Her name is Sarah. She is two years old. Sarah also has cerebral palsy, but her diagnosis is not good. She is blind and has severe seizures. The abortionist, besides injecting the mother with saline, also injects the baby victims. Sarah was injected in the head. I saw the place on her head where this was done. When I speak, I speak not only for myself, but for the other survivors, like Sarah, and also for those who cannot yet speak ...
Today, a baby is a baby when convenient. It is tissue or otherwise when the time is not right. A baby is a baby when miscarriage takes place at two, three, four months. A baby is called a tissue or clumps of cells when an abortion takes place at two, three, four months. Why is that? I see no difference. What are you seeing? Many close there eyes...
The best thing I can show you to defend life is my life. It has been a great gift. Killing is not the answer to any question or situation. Show me how it is the answer.
There is a quote which is etched into the high ceilings of one of our state's capitol buildings. The quote says, "Whatever is morally wrong, is not politically correct." Abortion is morally wrong. Our country is shedding the blood of the innocent. America is killing its future.
All life is valuable. All life is a gift from our Creator. We must receive and cherish the gifts we are given. We must honor the right to life.

One more kick in the side!
The US Senate voted yesterday to confirm Sonia Sotomayor as a Supreme Court Justice. Sadly, there’s a solid body of evidence demonstrating we can expect her to be an additional pro-abortion vote on our nation’s highest court.
It also saddens me that some of our “pro-life” senators voted for her confirmation. The biggest disappointment was Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. During her confirmation hearing, Senator Graham displayed solid leadership in questioning Judge Sotomayor. But in the end he voted for her confirmation.
If Judge Sotomayor had been a member of the KKK or accused of cruelty to animals, it would have undoubtedly been a disqualifying issue for a majority of the Senators. So why isn’t it a disqualifying issue if a prospective justice supports the continued daily killing of innocent unborn children—by the thousands? That should be the ultimate disqualifying issue! It certainly should have been for our “pro-life” senators.
I believe they owe you and all pro-life Americans an explanation for their vote. I encourage you to contact each of them and politely but firmly ask why they voted to confirm a judge who is expected to allow the killing to continue unabated. The blood of over 3,000 babies that die in America’s abortion chambers each day deserves to be a higher priority. And it seems to me that this blood will now be on their hands.
Please contact these senators:
Senator George Voinovich (R) Ohio
Senator Chris Bond (R) Missouri
Senator Judd Gregg (R) New Hampshire
Senator Mel Martinez (R) Florida (just announced his resignation today)
Senator Richard Lugar (R) Indiana
Senator Lindsey Graham (R) South Carolina
Senator Lamar Alexander (R) Tennessee.
Don’t let a political response to your question end the discussion. Politely remind these Senators and/or their staff that the blood of innocent unborn babies trumps all politics on Capitol Hill.
Sincerely for the babies,
THIS WAS EMAILED TO ME FROM LIFE ISSUES.. I WANTED YOU ALL TO READ. SO NOT MY WORDS, BUT IMPORTANT
FOR YOU TO READ.

“Thirty-five years after the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade, it’s never been
more important to protect a woman’s right to choose....Throughout my career, I’ve

President Obama issued a statement reaffirming his

– an agency that had received no U.S. funds under
the Bush Administration because of its involvement

In March 2009, President Obama issued an executive
order that opened the door to federal funding of
research that requires the killing of human embryos,
reversing President Bush’s 2001 order that blocked
federal funding of embryo-killing research.

Miracles
My post for today is short and sweet.
The above video is a bit long, but worth your time.
My mission is to inform as many people of the life issue.
Sometimes people forget what is important.
I am Thankful for each day my children have and I with them.
I am Thankful that God found me worthy to have a family and he leads me everyday in all I do.
I am Thankful that I found a guy that believes in the same things I do.
I am Blessed for everything I have.
Happy Wednesday..

Birthdays
It has been a busy beginning of the Month.
Birthday's galore, but now I am Back.. Ready to face the
Issues that are important to myself and should be for you all.
Speechless
One day you became a part of me
You would grow and be safe until your arrival into the world
You kick me and gave me heartburn, but I could feel you growing
As we grow together, everyone prepares for your coming
I hear your heartbeat, and I see you on the screen.
I am speechless, knowing God has given us You.
We pack the bags, and get in the car knowing when we
return you will be here.
Our hearts are one, but soon we will be able to hug you and
kiss you.
I love you, from even before I knew you were Apart of Us.
My hope is that you will know how precious you are.
I am speechless and in Awe that God Blessed us with you.
I Love You and the Life God gives Us.
