New from Mattel: Tramp Stamp Barbie

Mattel has launched a new range of Barbies that allow little girls to add tattoos to their dolls.

The new Barbie dolls are part of Mattel’s “Totally Tattoos” range, and include tattoos of hearts, flowers, stars, rabbits, butterflies, and a Barbie silhouette. One tattoo though includes a heart and Ken’s name, and is perfectly sized as a tramp stamp on the lower back, as per the picture above.

The Daily Mail reports that not everyone is happy with the move, with one expert claiming that it further sexualizes children’s play. Mattel argues that “This type of open-ended, creative play is a healthy form of self expression that Barbie brings to girls.”

I got this from the inquisitr.

My thoughts:

I actually don't know what to say except REALLY!!! Come on now!!

Curious

As a parent we all worry when our children show signs of not feeling well or a curious Rash.
My little ones have gotten a rash that is itchy and looks blotchy,  resembling  a allergic reaction.  I had thought they were all not liking the new area , since we had moved.  But the littlest one got it the worst on her cheeks and arms, then legs.  So I called the doctor to only realize that they were booked at least until next week.  I miss our old doctor..
But I then decided after the oldest one showed signs of the same rash, I became more worried.
My nine year old got it last week,  one was left. I am crossing my fingers that it stops.  I was walking our dog with the five year old who has not shown signs of this rash, and we bumped into one of our neighbors who happens to be a NURSE... Yes, she told us that for about two weeks parents have been calling in about a weird and blotchy rash, So my children are not allergic to our new home.. I felt like jumping up for JOY!!  She then said that it will just go away in about 3 days or so.. Which when I started thinking about it my sons, rash went away in about 3 days.  So to all the parents who see a curious and blotchy rash, I am going to say that it should be okay and just needs to work its course, but of course not all rashes will go away, So as I am not a health professional, I would say just watch it and breathe deeply.

Computer issues.

Yesterday, we were in weekend mode.  As one of our children play on the computer, suddenly a pop-up joined our computer.  This was no regular pop-up, it happen to be something called spyware removal 2009 ( which is a rogue) and interesting enough a virus..
So yea, I had to check on it and after several hours of rebooting and downloading a new virus protection program it was gone.. Still crossing my fingers.. I do have to say that my other protection program prior to the new one was okay, but failed. Two guesses which one?
The new one is AVG, and I will let you all know if it works well.  We have always been a Dell family(not really liking Dell much anymore), but we have  Mac Books and Love them..

I once read an article about how certain companies (computer manufactures) hire certain people to make new bugs, virus's  for their computers so then you may buy a new one.  Really who has the time to sit there and figure out how to get rid of the infection, or read multiple articles about deleting a virus, adware, spyware, or anything else that gets on your computer..
I do have to say after fixing the problem I then went on a nice , hard, fast run the feeling when I left was frustration but when I returned  it was calming and a sense of accomplishments.
So here is my Ramblings for this Monday morning.

Exclusive: Carrie Prejean Says 'God Was Testing My Faith' With Gay Marriage Question

Monday, April 20, 2009Carrie Prejean is the most famous runner-up in Miss USA history.

In an exclusive interview with FOXNews.com's Courtney Friel, Miss California says her phone has been ringing off the hook with people offering her support after she took on a question about gay marriage on Sunday night's Miss USA telecast.

"I have no regrets about answering [judge Perez Hilton] honestly," she said in one of her first interviews following the show, where she answered that she was against gay marriage becoming legal in California. "He asked me for my opinion and I gave it to him. I have nothing against gay people and I didn't mean to offend anyone in my answer."

This is from Fox news website.

In my own thoughts I feel we with traditional views get ridiculed.

Which is wild and weird, it is not like all traditional viewers look for a fight, no we stand firm.  We share our views with those who ask, but we don't mock or believe we are better.  We simply live the  life as others, but see things a bit different.  I say we all keep our  faith  close to our hearts.

You can keep knocking us down, but we will keep getting up.

Happy Tuesday to you All!

3 Times is not a Charm.

So we have been searching for a church that would meet all our families needs.
We had been trying several in the area, but have realized without a doubt after yesterdays
30 minute homily ( which I might add was well thought out.)  The priest however is very consumed with the expenses of the church.  This would be the third time my oldest and I have given this church a try.  We both felt his homily on these three occasions have been overwhelmed with the financial aspects of the church.
Please don't get this post wrong, I value  and understand that the church needs money, I fully support that fact.. I however believe that the homily and church service is for the word of God.
But maybe since I moved across the country, Things are different.
So My point to this post was that I realized the third time is not a charm.. No more chances..
We have firmly made our decision in what church, that we will be members of.
I know we had told some of our family members we had made a choice many weeks ago.  But we were running late yesterday morning and found ourselves at this church.. No more chances.
We are Thankful that even though we were a bit discouraged  after mass, we made our choice.
Thanks for letting me share.  Happy Monday..

2 Students Sue California College District for Threatening to Suspend Them for Praying

Friday, April 10, 2009

Two California students can sue their community college district after their school threatened to suspend them for praying on campus, a federal judge ruled.

Kandy Kyriacou and Ojoma Omaga said the College of Alameda accused them of "disruptive behavior" after they had prayed with an ailing teacher in a faculty office in December of 2007, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The students said the school issued suspension notices to them.

Although public colleges are prohibited from endorsing religion, U.S. District Judge Susan Illston ruled that the women can proceed with a lawsuit against Peralta Community College District.

Illston said college students have the right to pray in private outside the classroom, according to the Chronicle.

The lawsuit seeks an acknowledgment of that right and an apology, and wants all disciplinary action be rescinded, said one of the pair's lawyers, Steven Wood.

The women want no damages apart from attorneys' fees, the paper reported.

The district's attorneys argued that faculty offices were "places for teaching and learning and working" not "protests, demonstrations, prayer" or other disruptive activities

My thoughts:

COME ON REALLY.. So When my family and I pray in a public place.  Maybe for example a Restaurant , before we eat our food.  Thanking God for the many blessings in our lives. Will we have to then worry if someone will be offended by this action.

I am concerned as to where our country may be heading.  Please pray that we find our way out of these troubling waters.

Have a great weekend.

Another thing!

Georgetown University Hid Religious Symbols at White House Request

Georgetown University, a Catholic institution, covered up religious insignia symbolizing the name of Jesus during President Obama's address there Tuesday after the White House requested the change.

FOXNews.com

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Georgetown University hid a religious inscription representing the name of Jesus during President Obama's address there Tuesday, FOXNews.com has confirmed, because White House staff asked the school to cover up all religious symbols and signs while the president was on stage.

The monogram IHS, whose letters spell out the name of Jesus, and which normally perches above the stage in Gaston Hall where the president spoke, was covered over with what appeared to be black wood during the address.

"In coordinating the logistical arrangements for the event, Georgetown honored the White House staff's request to cover all of the Georgetown University signage and symbols behind the Gaston Hall stage," university spokesman Andy Pino told FOXNews.com.

The White House said that the backdrop, which included blue drapes and a host of American flags, was standard during policy speeches and other events.

"Decisions made about the backdrop for the speech were made to have a consistent background of American flags, which is standard for many presidential events," said White House spokesman Shin Inouye in a statement released Thursday.

Georgetown is a private Catholic institution founded by Jesuits in 1789. The auditorium where the president spoke Tuesday is adorned with religious imagery, but only the symbols directly on the stage -- those likely to be picked up by a television camera -- were obscured.

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, accused the university of "cowardice" for acceding to the White House, and criticized Obama's team for asking a religious school to "neuter itself" before the president made his address.

"No bishop who might speak at the White House would ever request that a crucifix be displayed behind him," he said.

The White House insisted that the move was made only to provide a proper setting for the speech -- and said that "any suggestions to the contrary are simply false."

Though his advance team asked that the religious signs be veiled, the president himself took up religious discourse and discussed a passage from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount as he outlined his plans for an economic recovery.

"We cannot rebuild this economy on the same pile of sand," he said during his remarks, which came two days after Easter. "We must build our house upon a rock."

It was Obama's first visit to Georgetown since being elected president, but he also spoke at the school on Sept. 20, 2006 about the need for energy independence. A photograph of the event does not seem to indicate that parts of the stage were hidden during that address, which Obama made while still a U.S. senator.

Another Catholic university, Notre Dame, came under fire in late March for inviting the president to speak at its May 17 commencement. Obama supports abortion rights, which are considered anathema by the Catholic Church.

Silence

This morning was interesting I had one of those disagreements.
You know the one that you have with your counterpart, the person you are in love with, the person you share your life with, for some of us the one you were blessed to have children with.  I am sure everyone has had one of these days.
My point is that you just feel after everything is said and done that, you  just want to let it lie and not keep on thinking about it.  But there is the other half  of you that says you want to understand, you want to be the typical women and draw it out. But you try desperately to refrain from being a woman , you try hard to see the big picture.. So you suffer in silence and this thing just keeps coming up by the other who has insulted or hurt or whatever.  But My whole thing for writing this is maybe if I share the festering and the being a woman and trying hard not too I will overcome and refrain from acting as a woman would.. Ouch am I even making any sense..  Well I did run a extra 2 (two miles) for the grand total being 5 miles.. I would liked to THANK this mornings disagreement and the person for having it with me so I could yes run 5 miles  at 40 minutes.  I think I might need more morning chats which lead to us not seeing eye to eye.  But I want you all to know I did succeed and I am not acting like a true woman, I am hanging on the mens side.  I seeing things as not black or white but shades of grey and I am so Thankful to have had them pointed out.  So these are my ramblings for this Tuesday afternoon. ENJOY!!

And the winner is!!!

Carolina.. is the winner of the NCAA Mens Basketball Championship.

The University of North Carolina men's basketball program is a successful college basketball program, considered to be "one of the dominant basketball teams in NCAA history." The Tar Heels have won five NCAA tournament championships in 1957, 1982, 1993, 2005 and 2009, and were retroactively named the national champions by the Helms Athletic Foundation for their undefeated season in 1924. They have also won 17 Atlantic Coast Conference tournament titles, and 27 Atlantic Coast Conference regular season titles (including an Atlantic Coast Conference record 17 outright Regular Season Championships). The program is well-known for its famous alumni, such as Michael Jordan, coaching history, and a rivalry with Duke (a team located only eight miles away in Durham, North Carolina). The rivalry is widely regarded as one of the most intense in all of sports.

From the Tar Heels' first season in 1910-11 through the 2007-08 season, the Tar Heels amassed a 73.6% all-time winning percentage, winning 1,950 games and losing 699 games in 98 seasons. The Tar Heels also have the most consecutive 20-win seasons, with 31 seasons from the 1970–71 seasons through 2000–2001 season. On January 21, 2007, North Carolina became only the second college basketball program to reach 1,900 wins in its history. The University of Kentucky was the only previous school to reach this mark. TheKansas Jayhawks have since become the third team to reach 1,900 wins.

The Tar Heels have won the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament five times, have appeared in the NCAA finals eight times, have participated in a record 18 NCAA Final Fours, have made it into the NCAA tournament 41 times (tied for second-most all-time),and hold the record for all-time NCAA Tournament victories (100). North Carolina also won the National Invitation Tournamenttournament in 1971, has appeared in two NIT Semifinals, and has made five appearances in the NIT Tournament. Additionally, the team has been the number one seed in the NCAA Tournament 13 times, the latest being in 2009 (most #1 seeds all-time), has been ranked in the top 25 AP Poll 703 times (1st all-time), has beaten #1 teams a record 12 times, has the most consecutive 20-win seasons, with 31, and has the most consecutive top-3 ACC finishes with 37. North Carolina has had a top twenty-five final ranking among Division I schools 42 times as ranked by the Associated Press and 44 times as ranked by the Coaches Poll. In five instances the North Carolina Tar Heels have ended the season with a number one ranking in the Associated Press, and the North Carolina Tar Heels have also been ranked number one five times at the end of the season by the Coaches' Poll. In 2008 the Tar Heels received the first unanimous preseason #1 ranking in the history of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, as well as the first unanimous preseason #1 ranking in the history of the Associated Press Poll.

I got this from wikipedia.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday, I Know I will.

Two left.

I am sad and happy to say the time is here for the NCAA Basketball Season to be finished this evening.
My Team made it ( Carolina) but they are going up against a rather different team (Michigan St)
than I  had figured.  I thought it would be UCONN.
So once again my Congrats go out to these two worthy teams and hope it is a great game.
Enjoy your Monday..

town hall meetings(really)

Stumbling over words and admiration.

I think these words can be put in the same sentence at this point.
Because the leader of our Great Nation gets these things right some how.
He stumbles over his words or someone else's  words.  This morning he showed his notes cards, instead of solely relying on the TeleprompTers. He also received applause and a standing Ovation in A foreign land,France. Interesting enough what has he done
that gives him this privilege. Why is the media( reporters) clapping
for him when they are suppose to show unbiased reporting.
Oh, thats right they are mostly made up of Liberals.
Interesting enough I find all of this Funny and Sad, But I am sure we will all find faith a comfort in knowing " We all need to know what we
had by failing and falling, because we will welcome the next phase
of this great country."

It's raining

Its raining and pouring the old man is snoring.
Do we remember that nursery rhyme.  I actually forgot it until my 3 and 5 year old
started singing it yesterday.  But we are now into day two of the old man is snoring song.
Do you know how cute it is, but I want to assure you that the cuteness does not last.  It has just made me not want them to learn anymore lovely songs.  Although I know that I shall teach them more silly songs . Knowing that  with God's blessings they shall teach their children someday.
Oh by the way I finally got my running in today a small 4 miles.. But it was four miles in between the rain.
Have a good Thursday evening.
